From 2024.01.01, the new name of the Land Information System (LIS) is the Land Resources Monitoring Information System (LRIS).
The task of LRIS is to create spatial data sets (hereinafter referred to as Land Spatial Data Sets) and maps using information technology tools, which would collect and display information about abandoned land areas, drained land areas, the condition of drained land areas, the layout of soils, their physical and agrochemical properties and other characteristics affecting land use.
The goal of LRIS is to systematically monitor, analyze and forecast the state of land resource use in the country, identify changes due to anthropogenic impact, substantiate measures for rational land use and environmental improvement, and provide statistical information to users.

ŽISIS data consists of state thematic spatial data sets and other thematic spatial data sets, which collect information about characteristics that affect land use. State thematic spatial data sets:
- Soil spatial data set M 1:10000 of the territory of the Republic of Lithuania (Dirv_DR10LT);
- Agrochemical soil properties data set M 1:10000 of the
territory of the Republic of Lithuania (DirvAgroch_DR10LT); - Land reclamation status and waterlogging spatial data set M 1:10000 of the territory of the Republic of Lithuania (Mel_DR10LT);
- Abandoned lands spatial data set (AŽ_DRLT).
